Some thoughts on the new year...My creativity flows most freely in silence and stillness...when focus is clear and time constraints recede. The constant motion of modern life is antithetical to the creative side of my work.Admittedly, 2025 did not offer much of that...By the end of the year, I found myself creatively depleted, a bit lost, and unable to access any real sense of intuition or momentum...It was also a period of artistic failure. Nothing I made felt right. Every wax I carved fell short of expectation, and so they remain…a quiet pile in my studio. No piece ever became jewelry. These failures are necessary, as horribly frustrating as they were. They sharpen discernment....
With the arrival of the new year, slowly and without force, I feel that spark of creative energy returning. And so, I begin again...This year, i seira will move more deliberately…releasing small, curated capsule collections that allow ideas the time they require to fully take shape, focusing on thoughtful collaborations, and deepening the Among Artisans series…highlighting independent artists and creating community for all.
